rolls.

Tonight I made yummy biscuits that are supposedly like the dinner rolls from Red Lobster. I think they turned out pretty tasty!

Here is the recipe:
For the dough:
2 1/2 c Bisquick
3/4 c milk
4 tbs cold butter (1/2 stick)
1 heaping cup of grated cheddar cheese
1/4 tsp garlic powder
pinch salt

For top glaze: (I doubled this)
2 tbs melted butter
1/4 tsp dried parsley flakes
1/2 tsp garlic powder
pinch salt

1. preheat oven to 400
2. combine Bisquick with cold butter using a fork, leaving small butter chunks (pea-sized).
3. add in cheese, milk, salt and garlic.
4. form rolls on on un-greased cookie sheet.
5. bake 15-17 minutes or until tops turn light brown
6. melt 2 tbs butter and mix in garlic, parsley, and salt, and spread over tops of biscuits

in need of updates.

So since being home, I have been absent to the blogging world... which I have said in the few posts I have posted since being home. So... here are a few highlights of the past few weeks.
 1) I got a calling... well two actually. I am a ward missionary, and a relief society teacher. These are new for me, as I have always been involved in having musical callings... however I am so grateful for the opportunity I have, and am excited to help strengthen not only the people in my ward, but the less actives and non-members!
2) I had to talk in church today on service.
this was my third talk this year... on service.
2) Work has been going great. My kids are getting quite crazy, so I am finding different ways to tame them. We had a boxcar competition at work--our room made a train. It was fun, but a lot of work!

3) I have been going on pretty regular walks with one of my best friends Kat... it has been fun to chat and workout at the same time. We have even been on a few hikes, which have been fun. Two of the times on our adventures, we have seen a king snake.

3) Kat, me, and my family went to an Indian Powwow. It was way neat and fun to see the natives in their head-dresses and native atire. We had yummy Indian tacos and watched the Indians dance.

update.

So... I have been super lame lately, and haven't really blogged. Ok.. so honestly, I haven't done anything, and haven't had anything to blog about. But, here it is.. the long-over due blog post about post-grad life.

To start.... as soon as I got home.. I HAD to get to the beach and get me some sun. It was a way fun day. The weather was perfect, and the water wasn't too cold. The Cooks happened to be there, and we played an awesome game of ultimate frisbee. It was pretty intense! All was fun until Jordan kinda got dominated by the ocean, and we ended up in the emergency room (dont worry... all turned out FINE!)

I had the chance to meet up with some of my good friends from high school when they were all in town. Its crazy how much things have changed since... Brenna married, and Breann ENGAGED!

Oh yeah, and its totally official now... my diploma came in the mail, and its framed. I DID IT!!!

And honestly, it hasn't been all fun and games... I have been working (which technically is fun and games since I get paid to play with kids). I really enjoy my job. Its fun to see my little first graders every day and see their excitement when they see me. It makes being home not so bad.

i miss.

I know that there are quotes that say something about dont worry about yesterday, and focus on tomorrow... or something to that effect. But for me, right now... the bottom line is... I miss my yesterday. I miss my friends. I miss being at school. I miss taking classes. I miss my social life. I miss being around a bunch of people who share my beliefs. I miss it. I really do. I am not saying that I dont like living with my family..it is nice to be at home with them. But I really do miss being away at school. I miss my yesterday. But I am going to try to see the light, and have hope for a better tomorrow.

wednesday morning.

A year ago I was in a psychology class called "Principles of Behavioral Learning." A huge chunk of our grade was based on training of a rat. At first... I was terrified of my rat. I could barely hold it. But after awhile... I learned to like her. In fact, she was my pet and I had a lot of fun training her. At the end of it all, I really wanted to keep her, but my mom said no.

This past Wednesday however, my rat encounter was not pleasant. I was sitting down, playing the piano, and the dog began to act funny. He was sniffing under the piano and pointing. I took a deep breath, and looked under the piano, and saw a rat tail coming out. I FREAKED out. I called my mom, and then my dad, and made him come home. All this time, I thought that the rat was just chillin there. It turns out, there was already a trap, and the poor rat was half alive on it. Regardless, it was still disgusting and gross, and I just didnt like it.
