A few weeks ago, we had Stake Conference. It was a regional conference for the stakes in Southern California. The speakers were all so wonderful, and had very inspiring messages. However, one of the thoughts was amazing, and remains prominent in my thoughts. The speaker told of his daughter. She was shopping for her daughters for a Christmas present and came across beautiful wooden music boxes-- the kind with the ballerina that spins around to a song when the box is opened. She bought two of these, and remembered her nieces birthday party coming up, and bought a smaller box for her niece. When she got home, she showed her youngest daughter the beautiful music box she bought for her niece. Immediately, the youngest daughter broke into tears and said that the music box is just like the one she always wanted. For an hours time the daughter sobbed tears of sadness as the mother tried explaining that the niece would be very sad if she did not get a gift, and that who knows what would happen in the future. The mother smiled because she knew the joy that would come across her daughters face on Christmas morning when she opened an even more beautiful music box than the one that her niece received for her birthday.
We may want things now, and many times we do not understand why we cannot have them at this moment. But just like the music box, our loving Heavenly Father has something greater in store for us. He has a beautiful, and intricate music box waiting for each and every one of us. We just have to be faithful in Him, and keep an eternal perspective, and all things will come together for us.
